Leah Hovey
Psychotherapist (qualifying)
Leah Hovey is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Certified Grief Professional (CGP) with specialized education in clinical trauma. With over a decade of experience in the mental health field, Leah has worked across diverse settings including mediation, private practice, non-profit organizations, and maternal mental health services.
She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Arts and Science in Psychology from the University of Guelph-Humber. Leah is also trained in a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She also has a special interest in working with athletes and sports teams.
She is a current member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists as well as a member of the Canadian Psychological Association.
Leah’s therapeutic approach is grounded in empathy, safety, and collaboration. Her goal is to create a space where clients feel supported and empowered to explore their experiences, while offering practical, client-centered tools for growth and healing.
